I have always had the opinion that if a drive rejects a Set Feature
command the feature that the host was trying to change, such as the
PIO or DMA mode, would remain unchanged and the drive would continue
to operate normally.

Note that this is very different from the way SET MULTIPLE or INIT
DEV PARAMS work. For these commands we have always said that if SET
MULTIPLE is rejected R/W MULTIPLE are disabled and if INIT DEV PARAMS
fails all media access is rejected.
