Bill
First save to new file. Do a save as and save it as an asii file.
You might have to change its properties to text. Do a right click on the 
file and see properties.
Then open it in the text editor and look for polygons that are in the 
negative or don't
look right. Delete this line or lines. Save the file change its properties 
back to pcb and open it.
The polygon will be gone.
I just did this to a file and remembered having to do this a long time ago.
If you have more than one polygon the layer in question I suggest you move 
the ones you want to another
layer as this will make deleting the ghost. I hope you know what layer its 
on. If not delete all polygons.
Its easy to put them back.
