If you single left click on a PCB document in the left pane - the document
opens. Personally, I still use the traditional windows interface rather
than the webby one and so am used to a single click on a document
highlighting it rather than opening it. I assume I am in a similar
position to many other uses by the looks of this thread. I make less
mistakes now than I used to of course, but being used to an exception does
not excuse the exception.
The problem would be fixed if the left pane behaved as Windows Explorer
does and didn't show documents - just folders. Then it would be consistent
- single click on folder and contents of that folder are displayed in right
pane. As it stands, though, Protel shows documents in the left pane.
It is consistent with the concept that single click in the left pane opens
the contents of that container - but inconsistent in the sense that
documents are displayed as well as folders. I think that this
inconsistency is the source of the problem - as it often is in user interfaces.
