Actually, I'm using NT, and I have to double click to open files (something
you do from the RIGHT pane) but when browsing through the Explorer window (I
believe this is the generic term for the left pane, regardless of program)
double clicks behave exactly like two clicks spaced farther apart in time.
I think you can set NT for single click file opening; one of my co-workers
had his set that way and you should hear him curse when he uses my machine!

Mike,
you must have the option in Windows setup to single click items,
similar to web site links. It is an option introduced somewhere back about
W98 time. I and most of the people I know do not use this option. It is set
by going into View-Properties and one of the option list checkboxes I
believe. Sorry can't confirm that because I am on a NT machine right now, I
don't even think it is an option to be found anywhere in NT.
