I think it would be simpler to have more options for specifying what a pin
actually is and have the ability to edit what a pin is in the schematic. No
need for no-ERC marks at all then. Modified pins should have some kind of
mark to show they are not default.
I would rather specify that this particular I/O pin is being used as an
input than add no-ERC flags saying shorting this pin to an output or power
is not an error.
You could assign proper electrical properties to connector pins for
example.
Also do away with the rules matrix which apart from fixing one incorrect
default I haven't modified in years.
