Why would you suggest he buy more RAM? He said he has 256 MB RAM. That is
really enough. Maybe there is some trashed OS component, and doing a clean
install of the OS is less trouble that buying a whole new machine. And it
doesn't cost anything besides time. But after you've been doing it 10+
years, it doesn't take that much time. AND, it's a good way to clean off all
that crap that piles up on the drive. Just make a backup in case you forget
you really needed some obscure file.
