#1. The only time you would want a multiprocessor would be if you plan on using you
PC for other thing while Protel is doing some heavy processing, like auto routing.
Or, if your PC is also being used a general server, or administrator on your companies
network. Some actions while you work within Protel can cause short pauses in network
performance with 1 CPU.

#2. By design, Win2K is a fully true 32bit OS. Win9x still has a lot of 16 bit code
& libraries in it, including the occasional 16 bit driver. Win2k is professional,
designed to be as crash proof as possible. Win2k is secure, meaning that it could be
set up so that no 1 without a password can enter the system. It's network security
far exceeds Win98. Win2k also does not allow software to directly peek into your
hardware, where some cheaper programs may cause mischief with your system.

#3. Unknown by me.

| First I would like to thank everyone for the suggestions and knowledge. This
| has however raised a couple of questions...
|
| 1. Is a dual processor system really worth the extra $. (aren't I a good
| employee!)
|
| 2. Why is 99SE more stable under Win2K/NT as opposed to Win9x?
|
| 3. Does anyone use a pointer other than a mouse? (i.e.: tablet) and how does
| 99SE handle it?
|
| Once again, thanks for all the help. It's great that a beginner can access
| people of experience from around the world and use their knowledge to better
| understand the tools of his/her chosen career.
|
| How did anyone productively use these software packages before e-mail? :)
