Bishwo, good to read about mpp using windows. but you shouldn't forget that FOSS is just another business model as proprietary solutions. But in Nepal no one is coming forward with a business plan based on FOSS. We , FOSS Nepal, should incubate those entrepreneurs who want to give business solutions based on FOSS to enterprises. But it seems like, we have 100s of FOssians but no one daring enough to start a commercial FOSS company.
i am not being skeptical about foss but after coming to Europe i have realized this: FOSS is yet another way to exploit developers from developing countries to get the desired software built by developers in developing countries for free from companies and people in developing countries as a supervisors. and note one thing, very very developers in developed countries work on FOSS software for free. They all have business motive behind. Whereas I am glad in our country we do it as volunteers for livelihood and better of society, villages and people. But despite of that you shouldn't be like Richard Stallman, one shouldn't force sb to use FOSS only just because the organization is working in FOSS. Its once's choice. I have been into FOSS actively for 6 years now but I still use windows at times because my wifi doesnt work in windows at times. For me the most important thing is getting the work done and right now I cant afford to learn how to make linux drivers while I have a deadline. If you or anyone can give a cheap business solution based on linux and support organisations like mpp or any other commercial companies for doing their day to day life cheaper than windows with full support, then I can promise you no one will use windows. So I would like to ask all others who are willing to, to start advocating about licensing in software and think about commercial services in FOSS.
