Thanks Hempal Dai for your suggestions and ideas.

I agree with you. we can be partners with institutes. Before that I think we
should play a role of mentors for interested companies and individuals by
collaborating with HLCIT, NITC and IT corporate sector on building a
standard that we will adopt in Nepal. Would we go to BSD styles, CC styles ,
Mozilla styles or Apache sytle or combination of all. What would be
standards ? There are millions of them, which one to adopt. I think FOSS
Nepal should start thinking about these issues seriously.

We have already passed the phase of informing people what FOSS can do . Now
its high time to prove what we said are true. Now we have a good relations
with all the sectors in IT field in Nepal, I think its just the perfect time
for starting a plan on how to go about certifications. I am very much
impressed by online community certification like javablackbelt.com. We can
start a new step towards foss certification in different fields like (
system admin, programming, general office works, gov office work, corporate
world, banking, agriculture, education, hospitals, u name it ..) that we
require. It hasn't been done in any country yet but we can do it with our
own innovation. If everyone agrees Subir dai and Hempal dai, I think you
should call a meeting and form a task force for certification.

Apart from certification, if anyone comes up with a serious business model,
I can share him/her my ideas on how to go about it. Who knows we can work
out some investments as well. Big guys in IT sector all over the world
(including Nepal) are always eager to find new ways to invest. We need
comments and feedbacks on this by corporate seniors in our community like
Rajesh Sir.

Anyways that was my reflection on Hempal Dai's post.
