Hello all,
As you know that I recently visited Singapore for an OSS related workshop,
one of the most important thing that struck me there was the kind of headway
the Indians have acheived in the field of OSS. They have there own
government funded research center along with support from international MNC
and domestic companies. Now among other things that really caught my
imagination is the fact that Anna University in Chennai has develped two
courses #1 FOSS (introduction) and #2 Enterprise Application Dev. in FOSS as
a elective for there BIT, B.Sc (CS) and MCA. They have a detail course and
some reference books listed in their course page. [1]

Now, I know that there many ideas being floated in our group with zero
implementation.Further, it might seem like a far fetched idea to introduce
the course to colleges anytime soon. However I personally think that if not
for teaching purpose, this course can atleast help us by providing us with a
base and structure to work on a adapted course for schools and colleges that
we have been planning and talking for ages now. It seems to be a good
course, lets have a look and see if we can manipulate it to get more out of
it for our usages. As far as the copyright issue is concerned, if we are
interested I can talk to one of the faculty member of Anna University (whom
I met in workshop) to officiate the process of adapting the course for our
purpose.

Please have a look and comment.
