Recently, I had a chance to attend an interaction program organized by MPP regarding changing course curriculum in schools. MPP had circulated the minutes of the meeting and I had briefed about it in one of our meetings before Dashain. But I'm not sure if it has already been blogged/wiki'ed though! Just to clear things up, there has not been any headway regarding changing the curriculum. The process of communicating with the concerned stakeholders has just been initiated, not much than that. The real work has to be started now, practically after Tihar. The school curriculum changes every 10 year according to the CDC (Curriculum Development Center) guys who attended the meeting. They have suggested us to give the changes required in the curriculum in written form, after which only they can act. The process is quite a long one involving 7 or 8 steps going through different committees and all as nepbabu said in one of the earlier mails. They've even invited us to CDC for a presentation on FOSS. As per my chats with Bibek, Dadhiram and others, let's plan to do the presentation right after Tihar. That's the update from my side. We are thinking of creating a curriculum group in this matter involving whoever is interested from the community soon. And one more thing, MPP is taking lead in it by creating a pressure group comprising of FOSS Nepal, ENRD, different schools, etc. I guess they would soon form the group for the same. Will keep you posted. Sorry for not updating the list earlier as there had not been any real headway into the matter and were thinking of taking some concrete steps soon. And thanks for your suggestions, nepbabu as always :) Cheers, Subir --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ FOSS Nepal mailing list: [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
