Hi Aish Raj Dahal

I am planning to work in statistical machine translation using Bayes Theorem so
if you have corpus for nepali to english translation please provide me.

Well precisely, I do have doubts that the project lacks feasibility to be
completed in three months time. Moreover, while I consulted with Jacob in this
matter, he suggested that Nepal-Hindi would be a better choice, as the
languages are closely related. Furthermore, with one foot set in an already
developed language pair(such as the proposed Nepali-Hindi pair) the development
of a Nepali-English machine translation pair, will be heavily benefited in the
future.
Therefore, on grounds of feasibility, I am switching over th Nepali-Hindi pair.
For this, I am evaluating and working on making the existing linguistic
resources available for Hindi to be compatible with Apertium. I hope to lay the
groundwork for this as soon as possible,

Thank you for your valuable advice.

Regards,
Aishraj
Since Nepali and English are not closely related languages, for which Apertium
was originally made, it is indeed a hard work that I shall be amining for.

If you want to submit a proposal to GSC based on Appertium platform
write a draft proposal including related work previously done in
Appertium. After a discussion within engineer or NLPsts and linguists
you can identify the exact work plans.
