Nootan, You have brought up one of the most important and unresolved issue. As we all are aware that FOSS Nepal Community is a true community but due to some legal requirements we are also registered as Not-for-profit Organization. We have never given much importance to that legal part because it was not our intention but a formality for existence.
Due to the presence of maximum once-active-but-not-active members in the executive member list of that organization structure, our same community has not been renewed with the Government for some years now. I tried to renew with help from dadhi dai and hempal dai earlier this year and spent lot of time but it was in Aashad and simply they do not renew... :( I do not want to pinpoint the problems but let me jump into solutions. If i have to give solution to problem. These are the first 4 steps. First of all, our community which is registered to government of Nepal must be renewed till now. It will need some human hours, effort and money. Second, formation of a new team under the same constitution(Bidhan). prepare some ground rules. Ask firm commitment. I would suggest not to include anyone who cannot commit atleast 48 (12 hrs a week) hours in a month. Third give each member of team one responsibility: like office, fund, event, college coordination, FKK, Mentorship/intern, social media, marketing, Training, deployment, support... which can be identified later Fourthly, revive all regular events and meetups. Hold biweekly or monthly general meeting. Then we can look for ways to make the community sustainable and take towards attaining the goal and vision. My few bits. Best wishes. Prabin.
