At http://www.fossil-scm.org/fossil/brlist there are characters on the column labels that indicate sorting. The characters used are u+2b06, u+2b07, and u+21f3. These render perfectly for me on Linux, Max, Win7, and Win8, using FF, Chrome, IE, Safari, and Opera. And yet some people are reporting they are getting crazy non-arrow characters in those places.
