I've found that in some browsers,  all nodes look like squares, not sure
why.

That being  said, I  prefer a  blocky thing with  edges to  a no-corners
thing  when  line oriented  data  is  concerned.  The timeline  is  line
oriented e.g.  while the  lines are not  drawn between  different cells,
one  has not  a  difficult time  following (or  leading  to borrow  from
typesetting) from the  timeline to the checkin, because the  edge of the
box  can act  as a  leader. Do  the circles  assist or  detract in  this
function of  leaders? They are colored,  and it matches the  comment, so
that helps.
