Peter,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I catch your meaning, though. The
first appendix in the book is fine.
We do use Numeric chapter numbering for the appendixes. For our *second*
appendix in the book, which has the title "Appendix B:",
The Chapter heading autonumber format for the Appendix is:
A:Appendix <A+>:\sn
Our pagination for this appendix is set to:
Chapter:
Continue Numbering from previous file
Format: Numeric (14)
But, the unruly table heading autonumber format
F:Figure <$chapnum>-<n=1>:\sn
results with the table increments starting at a numeric. E.g.,
Table 19-1
when in fact we want the table to be:
Table B-19
I'm probably missing one small setting or something, but I'm a tad it
baffled. Do I not have my pagination set correctly, or am I doing one of
the autonumbering formats wrong?
Thanks,
-Patrick

Hi, Patrick:
Instead of numbering your appendix files with a text character in the
autonumber format, use numeric chapter numbering with the display set to
alphabetic, and use <$chapnum> in your paragraph formats, just as you do
for other chapters.
