I stayed out of this thread because I was uncertain regarding the implications of “B” or exploitation. But the discussion seemed to get interesting.
Robert Polidori was cinematographer for all three episodes, and I, Robert Harris, shot with him on episode 3 of Bill Gunn’s Personal Problems. Personal Problems went virtually unseen for decades, but has been revived and is enjoying critical acclaim. It was written and produced by Ishmael Reed. It was low budget but not exploitation. > On Nov 8, 2021, at 4:17 PM, jared ashburn <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi, > > Does anyone know of any American avant-garde filmmakers who also worked on > low-budget features, B or exploitation films in the late 60s and 70s?
