Details:
within settings.c something like char **reject_msg is often used as argument
to functions. This function returns a boolean and the reject message is only
set if the return value is FALSE. Replace these calls by a setting_log() /
SETTING_LOG() and setting_error() function pair similar to the one used in
registry.c.
