I strongly disagree with this sentence. Act of releasing 2.3.0 does not
automagically uninstall 2.1 and 2.2 from peoples machines.
Just released Ubuntu LTS (supported 5 years) Lucid Lynx uses Freeciv 2.1.10.
So Ubuntu supports Freeciv 2.*1* to year 2014 at least.
Currently metaserver still shows long list of 2.*0* servers. They are
modified version (warclient), but still 2.0 compatible. Metaserver also shows
number of 2.1 freeciv.net servers.
