I am very strongly against stripping out source code from the packages and creating a separate "bin" CD and "source" CD. We used to do something very much like that, and it was fine at first, but eventually the package maintenance became very difficult. Keeping the source code as part of the package (and selecting at "install time" if you want the source code) avoids all that. And keeping the source code with the package means it's easier to stay in compliance with each open source license.
