     1FE0:7C00=158k. BTW, take a look at comments in (current) boot32.asm -
they are misleading, because says "1FE0:0" for boot sector.

     This is not limit cutrrently, of course, but it may limit later. Also,
again: in boot.asm this forces to place FAT chain buffer at offset 2000
(instead 0).
