Thanks for replying so quickly and for your additional effort by
installing Paradox 4.5 yourself. The error message I got is similar to
what you have cited.
I do not expect nor do I wish someone to waist her/his time with this
subject, however. I was just curious if someone had success already.
From my side I'd prefer this to be closed.
Paradox 4.0 and 4.5 are not supposed to run on DOS, they are designed
for (later) Windows and require Windows memory management.
As mentioned in one of the replies, there were even problems running it
on Windows 9x and even Windows 2000.
I had issues with this at various clients that used a specific lawyers
time tracking/billing software that used these Paradox versions as their
underlying database. There were no problem directly with Paradox 4.x
when running on Windows XP, though there it gave frequent issues with
Borland's BDE database access tool (for both C++ and Delphi), as that
was being phased out by Borland (/Codegear/Inprise/Embarcadero)...
Also, the Paradox 3..x version required a memory manager that full
supported VCPI, which was a problem on Windows 95 at least...
