I don't understand how mediaenforcer tracks Freenet users.
Basicaly that article sais that these Copyright Enforcers request data
that they know is copyright protected and whichever node starts sending
them the data is then deamed to be doing something illegal. Basicaly
what they are saying is that if ANY illegal content exists on freenet
they will be able to punish ALL Freenet Users with good, high speed,
permanent nodes which is where the data gets routed through when someone
requests data. I found out that transient nodes don't do the same thing
as permanent nodes.
How do we fix this? How do we hide the IP addresses of the permanent
nodes while also allowing all of the nodes to know about other nodes?
I am very frightened for Freenet because of this technology. To date I
have not put any copyrighted material on Freenet, and I will most
certainly not do it until I know for a fact that no one out there will be
punished for my actions.
Please explain to me how one might find out the IP address of a permanent
node? I just don't understand.
