As for the apps, BMP with several plugins should allow to get rid of xmms and all gtk1 deps.
As for openoffice, I'd love the latest beta of 2.0. The last of I tried works very fine for me. Maybe get rid of lynx and use links or w3m instead.
Ohh something important : I want the latest inkscape (which is at last available for freebsd) ;))
And finally, the work-for-me-but-maybe-not-others-big-wish :
xemacs instead of emacs... with all stuff for ocaml programming :
namely the xemacs mode tuareg-mode, ocaml itself and and at least two bindings : lablgtk2 for gtk2 and lablgl for OpenGL. This is a very full featured programming language, see wikipedia for more info or the official site http://caml.inria.fr. Adding this would not take a big amount of space : maybe 10M compressed. And I assure you that it would make a big big advertisement for Freesbie (and freebsd) in the Ocaml community which begins to be important. If you need help for this, you may contact me.
Voila ! Big thx for making freesbie... It's a very great project.
Cheers,
Henri

We try to give users the possibility to know that windows managers are
not only kde and gnome, but there are a lot of alternatives full of
features users could appreciate.
So, a DVD edition is a good choice because we could fit in there
a lot of versions or programs, but the problem (in an early stage of
this idea) could be the process of compress the filesystem into cloop
files: I caught a segfault (ok, it was a long time ago and i was full of
beer).
I have no firewire mass storage device to try freesbie on a firewire
bootable media, so i'll wait for my next birthday (august, REMEMBER it
:)) :)
