My feeling: as little as possible for a mobile/base and nothing for an HT. I'd 
like to see this be like the Elecraft K2 as far as microphones go; with that 
radio, you can either buy one from them that works with it, or you can set the 
radio up to use one you already have. And on the firmware, the same way it's 
done for the K3, P3, and most smartphones; hook it to you PC and upload the new 
code.
