Well, there's three problems you could be having:
  * Your ISP's secure server setup is bad (perhaps certificate
    problem)
  * You are having networking problems related to SSL
  * FreeTrade isn't working

To test these:
  * Put up a static (.html) page on your webserver, and try
accessing that. If you can't access that, it could be an issue
with your computer's/network, or with the ISP. If you can
access it, the problem is probably with FreeTrade.
  * Try accessing other secure sites. If you can't do that, your
browser or firewall is probably not working right. If you can,
then the problem is almost definately with your ISP, and you
can take it up with them.
  * If the problem's with FreeTrade... well, others have had ideas
    about that.

I've had reports of problems at this point in the process as well, but
the problem is that https involves a whole set of things that could
fail, a number of which aren't related to FreeTrade, and several of
which are hard to control (client issues). Also, there's the domain
name issue -- I get the impression you are like me, with an entirely
different server name, and possibly different server software (I am
under the impression my ISP, Jumpline, uses a version of Apache
specifically compiled for SSL support that isn't virtualized like the
normal http server).

So, these are some general thoughts... maybe one of them helps.
