Paul,
I am not sure what you mean by the META REFRESH vs redirects. I am not
using any redirects that I know of in the login or order processing pages.
At least, not that I know of. If I am and this would solve the problem, I
would fix it.

Thank you for the heads up about microsoft. I am checking their site now.
Although, I am not using cookies to maintain state because the https url is
different from the site url. So I am passing the sid either in the url or
as a form field.

I did wonder if the sid was causing the problem. Except I got the same
error from a page request without the sid...

Kathleen

I have fought long and hard with some SSL-related problem
with IE (never had a problem with netscape). Microsoft
has several problem reports on file regarding redirects
and SSL and cookies. These describe bizarre interactions
between server SSL, client SSL, and sometimes also talk
about packet lengths. By some freak coincidence (yeah,
right) it works fine if you use an MS server and an MS
client. In reality, IE is just a POS.

The next time I work on this, I think I'm going to try
replacing redirects with META REFRESH stuff. I hate
that because it messes with the client's back button,
but it might solve it. Be sure to let us know if you
make any progress on this.
