-- sorry for the long message --

I have the same problem that you have... I have struggled like hell to
have my ATI 9000 Radeon to work with Tv-Out and XV - I managed that
with kernel 2.4.x to have 800x600 on both monitor and TV but since
2.6.x I can only reach weird combinations of 640x480 and 800x600 ... I
start freevo (which btw cannot be started automatically in fullscreen
mode), remove the borders from the kde window and press "z" - it is
then Ok and fullscreen on the TV upstairs, which is what it needs to
do. Anyway is on a virtual 800x600, so if someone moves the mouse
downstairs (where the monitor is) the viewable windows move (and _no_
, it does not work on 640x480 plain).

Beside that, I love freevo - and my family the same ... the only
complain is actually the ATI card (I'll replace it with an NVIDIA chip
based as soon as I have the time to open the beast) and the fact that
the combination of freevo with LIRC+Irman+Marmitek Remote is not
responding at light speed times ... and of course that after
installing python 2.4 I cannot use the audio mixer anymore within
freevo .... and that I cannot get xmame to work

Anyway: great work, my humble opinion is that Freevo it is not the
easiest thing to set up, but once it is up properly it is really great
- compared to the results I have with MythTV (which I use from a Mini
Mac connected to the server) and Xbox Media center (which my cousin
uses to connect to the same server).
