You know, maybe I haven't been looking hard enough, but in the past
several years since I've been interested in the Linux HTPC scene, I've
not seen a single MythTV vs. Freevo flamewar.

This is somewhat surprising, given that my natural cynicism prevents me
from drawing the conclusion that the people involved are, on a whole,
reasonable.

However, if you accept the (provable) premise that all software sucks,
it follows then that both MythTV and Freevo suck. It just happens that
they suck in different ways. When people ask me about HTPC software to
use on Linux, the first thing I ask is if live tv is the priority for
them, and if it is, I am very happy to recommend MythTV. Even if it
does suck.

Ultimately, whether it's the Freevo camp or the Myth camp, we have the
same end game: making the Linux HTPC experience suck less. And in this
goal we are united.

Yeah, and dischi is waiting for me. Sorry to be the bottleneck here. :)

Cheers,
Jason.
