If nobody else wants, I can give it a try to see the amount of work needed.
What would it consist in actually ? Is it just a matter of updating the site
or also the wiki ? Roughly, how many hours a week would be needed ?
Note that I'm not a graphic designer and I would only concentrate on the
content. Then once the content is refreshed why not ask to some other Freevo
user to relook it...
I would love a "push" organization where Freevo people/developers would send
me short requests/announcements (e.g on a dedicated list) about info
that impacts the documentation and/or the site. I would then digest it by asking
for more info, looking at the code then update the site. The merits ?
It would :
- log what has to be done on documentation/site so anybody knows
about it, can argue, comment, give priority...
- give me good hints at least at the beginning
- provide a fifo of tasks that I can pull when I have time to spend
- easy the task to anybody else willing to take over or join the effort
I'm one of the guys believing that for a mature product, devel is only half the
job. Documentation, support and nice looking do the rest. Already good support
is provided by the lists. Documentation is half the way and I'm sure we should
start from the current site. Concerning good looking, graphic designers are
welcome ;)
What do you think ?
My Sourceforge login is "nsouch", I used to maintain http://www.kgi-project.org
