I agree,

Freevo is a great piece of software, but lots of things are not
documented or difficult to find out. My recent wishlist post would be a
prime example, a large chunk of the big things I wanted already exist..
I just didn't know about them :)

Communication is essential to encourage use of software.

I personally would like to see more screen shots showing off exactly
what Freevo can do. A functionality walk through with screen shot /
video illustrations would be great. I think freevo could do with more of
a sales pitch ;)

A great starting point, IMO, would be to sort out the plugins page:

http://freevo.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/doc/Plugins

Its really not clear from this what is included "out of the box", what
you need to download, etc. Coupled with sorting out the addons page
which could do with updating and more info:

http://freevo.sourceforge.net/addons/index.php?&direction=0&order=&directory=Plugins

I think it needs screenshots, and much more detailed description of what
each plugin does. For example what does blue-0.2.1.tar.gz - do? it
apparently has "new features", but no idea what it does.

Lots more screen shots showing what things look like. As a "home
theater" platform designed to run on a TV there is very little graphical
on the site shown just what it looks like. IMO for people that want
something in their lounge its essential that we show off how good it looks.

Just updating all the out of date screen shots would be a good start :)
e.g. the ones here:
