If you have an ivtv based card freevo will do livetv with timeshifting. 
It'll also easily support multi tuners for recording or watching. I'm 
not sure about other cards, I think dvb is just as good but analogue 
might still be limited. I haven't got a mythtv install so I can't really 
compare the recording schedule options.
