Hi,

im reading here just for quite a while but haven't said anything until
now ... although i'm using freevo for quite some time - because it's
python ... and moreover - hehe, somebody wanted to start a flame war
some days ago ;))) - because it looked to me way more easy to configure
than mythtv (with all the mysql stuff) ... and it turned out to really
work with just a few modifiactions - without needing a rdbms and all
that hassle ... ;)

so well then, enough of the introductory stuff ...

it looks nice - and is very usable when it comes to "svn browsing" and
"wiki integration" - but imho it really sucks when it comes to "issue
tracking"...

what about roundup (roundup.sourceforge.net) ?
 - it's python,
 - it's mature
 - it's *very* configurable and customizeable
 - it can also integrate svn
 - i have deployed some experience with it - and wouldn't mind to share
   it ;)
 - and the roundup guys are always seeking for new projects using it ;)

greets,
mexx.

ps: i also have written a tvgrab_de_tvtoday.py (loosely based on the
xmltv.py i found in the freevo 1.6.x tree and on beautifulsoup). main
differences to the xmltv "original"
 - it also handles the program descriptions (which xmltv ignored the
   past years)
 - it works (xmltv was off for quite some time in the past because of
changes in the web-page - for several days, and it was hard to get
it adopted by it's maintainer - never thought on perl hacking - and
   reading tons of code beforehand)
 - it's python - so the code is really rather small and intuitive ;)
 - and ... most of all ;) - its maintained by me - so hopefully the
downtime caused by changes in the tvtoday web-site will be shorter
in the future ... for those who concern ;)
 - however, it is currently missing all the channel-id's except ORF[12]
and ATV+ - but thats only a matter of defining them ...
 - maybe you want to include it in freevo ? - i havent had the time
to put it on a seperate web page until now ... maybe we can start a
new pythonic "world domination" with a new grabber infrastructure ;)

over and out ... enough for one single mail ... !
