:)

Thanks for the positive replies. At the moment all that's involved in
the site maintenance is about half an hours direct work a month when
Duncan makes a new release. I did some very minor cleanups like fixing
links to Rob's svn but that's really it, I'm not a web designer and just
have enough basic html to get the job done, I'd really welcome someone
who could design and maintain a new site. As I mentioned and you've said
freevo really needs a site that reflects better it's rich media
experience. If someone has good graphic design and flash skills then
maybe something like http://plutohome.com/ would be good although I know
this might cause upset to devels who would prefer simple, clean and fast
access to the info they want, maybe just do a flash showcase page.
That's just an idea, if you have your own design ideas feel free to do a
mock up and we can discuss.

I think that a completely new threat might be needed (just to make sure
we catch everyone) to review the current situation and drum up support.
There's been a lot of life in the project since Duncan came on board and
started doing such a great job with the 1.x branch and there might be
more users willing to help. From a quick look at your comments and at
the site the following things come to mind.

Quick fixes:
Update screenshots page.
New thread for submissions with subject skin screenshot: skin name,
I'll update the page then.
Update Getting Started page.
Duncan gave info on the process for patches and bug reports for 1.x,
Dischi and Jason have different methods for 2 so this needs updating.
I'll do this.
Remove addons page if integrated.
I'm not too sure but this was discussed before and I think that at
least all the skins were included into svn. If Duncan or someone else
could review the plugins, see if there all included with current svn or
if they're needed at all then we should just remove that section if
possible and update the wiki with the relevant info.
Update links page - suggestions in new thread, I'll update them then.

Big fixes:
New site - developer and maintainers wanted.
Major review of the wiki. The wiki had a lot of work done when it was
moved last time but it really needs a full review. This can be broken
into sections that we can look for volunteers for.
A user survey would be great. Someone started this before but never
published the results. Something like the recent Geexbox one. We need a
volunteer for this.
Any other ideas?

John
