for gentoo i can provide an ebuild with vld-xvmc support - based on a
patch i found on the openchrome site ... for mplayer-1.0_pre8 ... 

be sure to get the openchrome driver, not the unichrome driver which is
bundled with the xorg-server - the unichrome driver lacks vld-xvmc
support.

this should work for the epia's with cle266 - i have a jetway via C7
with cn700 (i think) where this setup also works - but with the 1.2Ghz
C7 you dont need HW-accel mpeg decoding - it it also consumes less power
than the Epia M series (based on the via C3)
