Yu can edit the /etc/rc file and find the following lines :

# Clean /tmp on startup
(cd /tmp && rm -rf *)

just comment the second and you´re set. I use /tmp to hold several files
used by other daemons, so i DONT like to be deleted each time i have to
restart the virtual (which i haven´t do since last time i verified
everything was fine)
