Hi,

The commercial succes of an Open Source product depends on the success the
Open Source community supports the effort of the project.

Here are the issues i care when evaluating a software:

- How stable it is
- Technical documentation
- Commercial Support
- Ammount of people supporting the development
- How many lead programmers are and how their relationship with the OS
  community is.
- How strong the Company is (in case if the company goes down, all the
users wont have to look for another alternative solution)

Regarding FreeVSD, that is a great software, but there is (personaly) a
lack of interest of integrating the Open Source community heavy into the
project, which could lead the software into a stronger distribution,
support and of course better commercial an economical benefits from a
customized and media distributed version of the software (such as the
admin GUIs).

We're using FreeVSD since early stages (i don't remember nobody answered
my first questions in the mailing list), and i'll like to keep using it.

If i've to put more of my time to make the software keep going i will, but
i'll expect the same effort from Idaya, enforcing and providing more
interest into the Open Source community.

The last email from Tim it looked to me like:

"There it is, if you like what there is, take it, if not, buy it"

Yes, there is a little of true in that, but you guys wont have to forget
that the Open Source community is mainly the one that could make a success
or a failure of a project. That looks like you guys will keep working on
the software but now, without putting too much effort into the software
that Open Source community will use to keet it going.

Said this, yes, Pablo, i'm interested on helping in any
way/time/knowledge/effort that i might provide to make the software more
widely supported.

Regards,
