It's going to cost money or time, or both one way or another. Why should
anyone else pay these bills for you?

I'm not saying that we don't want to pay for any software - we do. But
the download option will be more cost-effective for us.

And Tim's:

I think in your situation then the solution would be:

$149 - cost of CD
$25 - cost of ftp'ing software (RPM and skel) contained on CD to remote
server
$5 - installation performed on server remotely via SSH

True - never thought about this option ...

Alternatively you may produce an RPM yourself from the available source,
generate a suitable skel yourself and save that initial cost of the CD. The
intention of the bootable installation CD is to provide a very simple
non-technical installation. That was the brief. You are after a different
distribution medium - you just want the RPMs available for download. This is
entirely possible, but levying a useful charge for it is problematic. Hence
the CD. I too regard the current situation as unsatisfactory and hope to be
able to make future RPMS available in the normal manner.

Not really - we are actually after the source, which will allow us to
install
on SuSE as well. And you've posted the CVS download instructions, so we're
ok for now.

thanks,

Johan
