Although I agree with you generally,

a) The cat that toys with the mouse, then doesn't eat it. What would it do if it
were as big and intelligent as us? Torture? (Broiler chickens, veal calves,
etc.)
b) The territoriality of a massive number of other species (particularly
mammals.) If they could practice it on a global scale like we do, would they be
kind and loving? (Think of the lion that takes over the pride, and kills all the
cubs that it has not sired - not even we do that.)
It is only us that can control our animalistic and 'destructive' urges, through
rational brain we realize that murder is wrong, and those who do murder (et al.)
are deviant. Animals regard it as a part of life, not good or bad, just a fact.
