To be honest, I did (partly) mean the Nazis but I didn't want to invoke Godwin's
Law (you lose!) The problem of the concept of ubermensche is that in practice it
would inevitably mean that there will be those who are NOT supermen. And we
would lose. Although I wouldn't wish these afflictions on anyone, would there be
a Stevie Wonder if he were not blind? Einstein if he were not dyslexic?
Would we descend into the depths of the Amazon and find the missing tribes, so
that they could be part of it? And if we didn't what happens when they come out?
What about criminals? What about the sheer numbers of billions of Chinese,
Indians and Africans? It will inevitably be a western phenomenon, thereby
dramatically increasing our already huge grip over the state of the human race.
Perhaps, one day eugenics and Nietsche will be the right thing to do. But not
for a very long time - not until we have sorted ourselves out in our current
state. Not until we no longer have the massive wealth redistribution to the
North & West that we currently do have. Not until we understand everything that
Neil was just talking about (reading your followups, Magna, we seem to agree.)
