Yes, there was no .htex equivalent. But this does not mean that
there could not be. For most .ht files it makes sense to
produce .pdf version or web pages. AFAICS it would be easier
if they were in .htex form.

There is 'asq' program which should be easy to modify to use as
a C library. We have IndexCard domain which allow you access
to HyperDoc database functions from Spad. If needed we could
wrap more HyperDoc functions. We have a bunch of Boot functions
which print information about domains, we could modify them
to return collected information to Spad.
