Good. Could you try command from attached Lisp file in sbcl.
And the same preceded by
)lisp
on FriCAS command line? Please start FriCAS using -nosman option
(this case is relevant to Texmacs). Correct result is:
#\GREEK_SMALL_LETTER_ALPHA
Also, to check output, please try in FriCAS:
ucodeToString(945)
That should print string consisting just of smallcase Greek alpha.
