It seems to me that many of the issues (including locking down and
authentication) have already been resolved on kronos, so I'd think that
the configuration on kronos would be a good starting point.  (Also, I'd
think it would be nice for MTCS students to have a similar set of
installed packages.)  One thing we haven't done that ITS would probably
want to do would be an automatic mounting of y drives; can't that be
accomplished by writing an appropriate pam module?
