I have several idea on this topic:
1) be able to read the 2 current variants of FuseDoc.
2) be able to, given a set of data, *write* a FuseDoc stub (or re-write a
template from one Fusedoc format to another, but keeping all code intact)
3) after doing (1) above, write same such info as an XML packet to be
included in the template as its own separate info. This is just an extension
of what (2) is doing anyway
since (3) is not useful until/unless a good number of us agree on how to
move forward with it, maybe we can try to plan to evolve to that point.
I modified the code that Paul supplied earlier in the week to now be able to
read his form of documentation as well as Hal's. It would be just as easy to
also write a quick module that reads Fred's format as well (and in fact I
like Fred's "browser" better anyway) . It obviously doesn't take a lot of
work to be able to write in those formats either, so being able to switch
between the formats is also easy (it also gets a buy-in from people who have
projects already done in one format or another).
What I'm trying to get a sense for is: can we all agree one type of the
three that we could move forward with? I paraphrase Ben Franklin in saying
that any of the three that we pick "may not be the best, but it is the best
we have".
I vote for Fred's simply because it allows the maximum expansion, and is
still readable by human eyes in its native format.
