We recently had a client who wanted to go the Solaris/iPlanet/Oracle route,
but their ISP (UUNet) is not supporting CF on Solaris. I don't know why.
At any rate, partly because of this they ended up going the NT/IIS/SQL
Server route.
If anyone has any good reasons to avoid CF on Solaris, I'd love to hear 'em.
We definitely want to branch out into other platforms besides NT. Linux, of
course, is an option, but...
It's my impression (pls correct me if I'm wrong) that the larger, public
company -type clients are most likely going to want a high-end,
enterprise-level solution, and that Solaris
and Oracle fit that bill better than NT and SQL Server. Don't want to start
a religious war here, people, just want some info...
