Is there really such a thing as a "Microsoft Supporter" (that's not on MS
payroll at least)?
I think it's mostly the "I think MS is the lesser of evils" crowd.
(sorry... ex-Mac user, still a Mac-head)

We have been using CF on Solaris for over a year now and have not had any
problems with it. Solaris is a much more stable environment than NT (Sorry
if I hurt any of you "Microsoft supporters" feelings). The only things you
have to be cautious about is your file naming conventions (no spaces in file
names and no capitol letters). Other than that we have been able to write
just about anything we need.
We currently have 27 URL's on Solaris with CF that total over 30,000 pages
and we have not had to restart the Solaris box or the CF server the first
time in over a year.

FYI, there are direct drivers to Oracle in CF that are much faster than the
ODBC drivers.
While I don't recommend running CF on Solaris, I don't see any reason for
not running Oracle itself on Solaris or Unix box. Does anybody else have
comments on this arrangement?
In fact, that may be a great way to go if you already have IT managers
working with Oracle on Unix (Web = NT/IIS, DB = Oracle/Unix)
