I agree. So far it did not work, textile workers etc.
did not "move up" when the jobs went to foreign sweatshops,
they are still unemployed. It is the same with the computer
industry, there are recent downsizing announced by ICL
IIRC. Once the third world establishes trade unions
and strive for a decent standard of living - to acquire
computer literacy for example - the structure
built on imaginary finance and real exploitation would
just fall down - see the asian crisis.
