In Switzerland and other developed countries, the "population growth" is
actually negative (only 1.48 children per woman/couple here), so the small
increase in residents (less than 2%) is only due to massive immigration.
This, and the other problems you mentioned, even the "financial meltdown",
is not a natural development that "just happens", but an artificial process
manufactured or accelerated by those who gain from the consequences.  The
bilateral treaties with the EU have made this more clear than ever.

So the "coming cull" is avoidable.

If this is so, what will protect your son and his wife from the "cannibals"
when Armageddon hits and the have-nots will assault the 3 hectares of forest,
the orchard and the greenhouse?

Thanks for your kind invitation, but the requirement of biometric passports
has ruled out the chance of me setting foot on America.  I'm not a terrrist
but I resent being treated like one in the passport office and airports...
