Why is that bad?

If one has a shrinking natural pie (topsoil, fisheries, forests, 
aquifers, clean rivers and lakes, etc., wouldn't it be rational to 
reduce the number of slices required to be cut from that pie? Each 
progeny could have more well being with less impact and negative feedback.

If you think the species is not in overshoot (incl Switzerland's 
ecological footprint), I suggest you are the one living in a mental 
stone age. I agree that 'local control and sustainability' is the 
desirable direction. Division of the pie is a different issue; but the 
pie doesn't grow depending on how it is sliced.

Think about this:

How many strangers do you invite to join you living in your home? Why 
should a village, canton, or nation think differently? I agree that 
globalization is a lever on the poor; but it is a lever on the planet's 
natural wealth from which all other derives. (without exception)
