Of course this would be rational, but let this be done by the nations
whose OWN population growth is positive. And let this be done by
reducing reproduction rates and per-capita footprints to a sustainable
level (note that both is enabled by development and stability),
NOT by mass murder.

This is a strawman argument. Of course I agree that the current nominal
growth in population and eco-footprints is not sustainable, but I reject
the fatalism of accepting and preparing for mass murder and using cave-man
ideologies as a justification, as well as wrong accusations (asserting
population growth in developed countries when it's actually immigration).

For the record, Switzerland's eco-footprint is much smaller than the US',
so there's no need to point fingers on this. For example, we are world
champions in train mileage (2,103 km/capita/year, ahead of Japan's 1,976km)
and the trains all run on renewable energy here. Unfortunately, immigrants
prefer the gas guzzler (after all, they came here to enjoy "wealth"!).
My neighbor is a guest worker from Portugal and works as a town cleaner,
but he drives a Hummer. So he can't afford train tickets! (also when
commuting to Portugal) I never had a car, for enviro reasons, like many
Swiss in towns (due to good public transport). Still complaining about
the overshooting Swiss eco-footprint...?

On this we agree.
